US secretary of state wants EU-based diplomats to lobby against DSA, DMA

According to a U.S. diplomatic cable obtained by Reuters, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is pushing diplomats stationed throughout the EU to lobby their respective host governments in an effort to build opposition to major EU digital regulations like the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act. “Posts should focus efforts to build host government and other stakeholder support to repeal and/or amend the DSA or related EU or national laws restricting expression online,” the cable stated.
