A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers issued a statement calling on the U.K. Investigatory Powers Tribunal to offer better transparency regarding proceedings against Apple regarding its appeal of the U.K. government’s request to enable backdoor access to its end-to-end encryption. Under U.K. law, Apple is barred from publicizing the order it was issued by the government requiring the access.
