U.K. Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights opened an inquiry to explore how human rights can be protected amid the rise of AI. The committee will explore the human rights issues at play including data usage and privacy, discrimination and bias, and how to remedy violations caused by AI. Additionally, the committee will examine AI in the context of existing legal and regulatory frameworks, and what changes may be necessary to ensure human rights are protected. The public submissions deadline is 5 Sept.
