U.K. Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood recently held a meeting with various tech companies to discuss potential upgrades toward a “digital, data and technology-enabled justice system,” The Guardian reports. Among the suggestions were biometric implant tools to track offenders and deploying AI broadly in prison operations with an eye to reduce crime and provide efficient tools to correctional officers.
