Sweden’s prime minister to call for AI Act pause at European Council meeting

Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson plans to raise the issue of potentially “confusing “AI Act requirements when he meets with EU heads of state at the upcoming European Council meeting in Brussels, Politico reports. Kristersson is expected to propose a pause on full implementation of the regulation due to a range of potential risks, including the EU falling behind technologically and decreased availability of AI apps across the EU.
