Sweden’s data protection authority, the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, said in a legal opinion it will begin conducting investigations into search services involved in personal data violation complaints. The renewed attention comes after rulings from the EU Court of Justice and Swedish courts determining the IMY has the ability to supervise search services where violations are possible without impeding on freedom of expression rights.
