A joint report by Corporate Europe Observatory and LobbyControl found technology companies aimed to weaken EU AI Act compliance obligations by influencing the European Commission’s Code of Practice on General-Purpose AI, Euronews reports. CEO Researcher Bram Vranken claimed the European Commission’s “obsession with ‘simplification’ and ‘competitiveness’ is opening the door to aggressive Big Tech lobbying,” while noting the draft code is “only among the first casualties of this single-minded focus on deregulation.”Â
