U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders released a joint statement on the one-year review of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The officials noted the framework’s success as more than 2,800 entities joined since July 2023 and 70% of those entities were small businesses. The joint review covered “compliance by companies with (the DPF’s) privacy requirements and the enforcement of those protections, to the functioning of the Data Protection Review Court.” The review will culminate with publication of a final report by the European Commission.
