Netherlands’ DPA tackles several AI initiatives

The Netherlands’ data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, announced several AI-related plans this week.

The latest AI and Algorithms Netherlands Report from the AP focuses on the risks and ethical questions raised by using AI to recognize human emotions.
The AP aims to meet with organizations that are successfully deploying algorithms that process personal data, with particular interest in developing best practices for other organizations that are reluctant or not confident in using AI due to the data protection risks.
The regulator is also seeking to improve algorithm registration and make it a mandatory requirement for public and private entities.
