Meta confirmed limited updates were made to its pay-or-consent advertising model in the EU ahead of a 26 June deadline for required changes issued by the European Commission. The corrective measures were ordered by the Commission with a 200 million euro fine over alleged Digital Markets Act violations stemming from Meta’s pay-or-consent practices. The company said it updated wording and design flow associated with user opt-outs, but the Commission must weigh whether those changes are sufficient.
