Ireland’s Data Protection Commission outlined the steps it has taken to ensure Meta’s AI training practice complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The DPC detailed all communications regarding its ongoing monitoring, including an explanation of recommended improvements Meta has taken up. “Our goal at pre-processing stage is to ensure that companies innovate responsibly, mitigate identified harms and risks to individuals and appropriately consider data subjects’ rights by balancing and protecting fundamental rights against the companies’ interests,” the DPC wrote.
