The U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office reprimanded the Greater Manchester Police for issues in its storage and handling of CCTV footage. The reprimand stemmed from a 2021 incident where a suspect was held in custody for 48 hours. When responding to a subsequent subject access request, the GMP learned two hours of the footage was missing, which led to the agency self-reporting a data breach to the ICO in September 2023.Â
