U.K. Information Commissioner John Edwards announced the launch of the ICO’s AI and biometrics strategic efforts at the authority’s AI All-Party Parliamentary Groups event. Edwards said the ICO will be “ramping up our scrutiny across the AI ecosystem — focusing particularly on areas where there is the potential for public benefit but we know there are concerns and a real risk of harm.”
