Google launched its generative artificial intelligence platform Bard in the EU after a delay in June over compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Euractiv reports. Google’s Product Director Jack Krawczyk said discussions with data protection authorities resulted in a focus on transparency around data use and giving users a choice over Google’s use of their information. Ireland’s Data Protection Commission said Google will provide a report after three months of Bard’s operation in the EU.
