The G7 Data Protection and Privacy Authorities Roundtable announced new commitments stemming from its latest summit hosted by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. The group adopted initiatives around AI and children’s online safety. Specifically responding to the G7 Leaders’ Statement on AI for Prosperity, enforcers highlighted the need for privacy considerations from the beginning of AI development to foster confidence and trust. In a separate statement, enforcers committed to engaging with experts and partner networks to “foster a trusted digital environment for all.”
