European Commission Vice President for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy Henna Virkkunen told the Financial Times the EU will deregulate to support competitiveness among technology companies. The EU recently withdrew proposals for the AI Liability Directive and the ePrivacy Regulation while the upcoming EU AI Code of Practice will limit company reporting requirements to what already exists in AI regulations.
