The European Data Protection Supervisor released this year’s TechSonar report, with a focus on AI-powered services and their effects on fundamental rights. The report looks at six technology trends, such as agentic AI, coding assistants and AI companions, to examine how they interact with privacy and data protection. EDPS Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiórowski noted humans will increasingly become “shepherds of AI agents” as the technology becomes more prevalent, making their supervisory role critical to ensuring AI acts appropriately.
