Data protection authorities in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania published their joint review on vehicle rental companies’ obligations to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation after an inquiry found some rental companies failed to adequately protect consumer data. Meanwhile, the Netherlands’ data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, claimed the government’s plan to create a database for taxi services could have unintended privacy implications for passengers.
