As data governance risks mount for organizations, the “complexities, volatilities and consequences are proliferating and compounding,” IAPP Director of Research and Insights Joe Jones writes in an op-ed. Reflecting on the 2024 IAPP Privacy Governance Report, Jones said a key finding was “how organizations, and the individuals tasked within them, are taking on more work, adjacent and additional to their privacy work.” He said this year’s Privacy Governance Survey hopes to glean how digital risk is perceived in geopolitical, technological, societal and organizational contexts.
