France’s data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, published guidance for increasing the cybersecurity of large databases after an uptick in data breaches in 2024. The CNIL’s recommendations included advising entities maintaining large databases to secure access to the information system via multifactor authentication as well as logging, analyzing and setting limits on data flows.
