Staff from Norway’s data protection authority, Datatilsynet, outlined the regulator’s support for a proposed national bill that would make sharing information easier. Legal Director Erlend Methi and Legal Special Advisor Miriam Karlsen noted the “purpose and framework for sharing are important; not because protecting the privacy of criminals outweighs the fight against fraud, but because financial institutions manage vast amounts of data about all of us.”
