In an interview with Politico, European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection Michael McGrath said the Commission has gone as far as it can to make pro-business reforms to the EU General Data Protection Regulation as part of the wider digital omnibus package. “We are close to, or at the point, where significant further changes could put at risk those high standards of data protection that I think we hold dearly in the European Union,” McGrath said.
