The European Commission opened a public consultation on draft legislation that would establish an AI regulatory sandbox program under the AI Act. The sandboxes would offer a controlled environment for product development with oversight from a “competent authority.” The draft regulation would also facilitate product testing in real-world conditions under appropriate circumstances.
