The Electronic Frontier Foundation released information detailing the potential harms age-verification laws can have, including privacy implications, free speech concerns and racial bias. The EFF argued if website “access depends on flawed technology or hard-to-obtain documents, we don’t just inconvenience users, we deepen existing inequalities and silence the people who most need these platforms.”
