Spain’s data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, announced the launch of its research laboratory that will help promote innovation and data protection research. The lab will also aid in the creation of the Journal of Privacy, Innovation and Technology, an initiative to “foster interdisciplinary dialogue among the scientific community, the public and private sectors, and civil society, promoting studies that integrate the legal, technological, ethical, and social analysis of technological advances, with particular attention to artificial intelligence and its impact on fundamental rights.”
