In an op-ed for TechPolicy Press, Brookings Institution Nonresident Senior Fellow Sorelle Friedler and Senior Fellow Nicol Turner Lee argued schools should focus on banning students from using AI to ensure students do not rely on these tools. They said if “AI-driven jobs are the future, then students should be prepared to assess problems and learn from mistakes — to sort convincingly generated fiction from fact, to write more compellingly and create genuinely new ideas.”
