In an op-ed for The Parliament magazine, Member of European Parliament Arba Kokalari said the EU should take a holistic approach to AI regulations and focus on simplifying regulations to ensure there is not a regulatory overlap and issues with compliance. Kokalari noted the EU “should not impose new digital legislation, unless it provides significant advantages for competitiveness or addresses clear legal gaps identified through impact assessments. More layers of legislation will only make it more difficult for European companies.”
