European Ombudswoman Teresa Anjinho is investigating how the European Commission is meeting its transparency, inclusiveness and accountability requirements for adopting AI harmonization standards. The inquiry comes after a civil rights organization complained the standardization bodies developing the rules do not have to publish their meeting minutes or who is working with them, as well as whether the Commission is balancing representation of interests in its process.
