IAPP Principal Researcher for Privacy Law and Public Policy Müge Fazlioglu, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, published the EU Digital Laws Report 2025, examining the state of digital regulations in the EU. From 2019-24, the EU enacted 101 digital regulations, with another 24 either in process or in the planning stages at the end of the 2019-24 legislative term. The new regulations are compelling organizations to prioritize implementing various requirements, understanding how they intersect and managing overlap with pre-existing regulations, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
