Aspects of the EU AI Act will be part of the European Commission’s omnibus digital simplification package, according to a Commission consultation outline. The proposal aims to bring “legal predictability” around AI Act rules, while also covering potential updates to third-party cookie and tracking technology rules under the ePrivacy Directive and an initiative to harmonize cybersecurity incident reporting requirements.
