Slovenia’s DPA urges child safety mechanisms that don’t breach user privacy

Slovenia’s data protection authority, Informacijski PooblaÅ¡Ä�enec, said efforts to protect children’s online safety must be done without surveillance mechanisms, such as online chat monitoring standards used to detect child sexual abuse material, that impede individuals’ privacy. The IP noted it is crucial to have a CSAM prevention framework containing “targeted measures” that are only applied when there is “a reasonable suspicion linked to an individual.”
