The Economist reports on new technology from Michigan State University which would use several biometric recognition algorithms at once to create a “whole-body recognition” of a person based on images from drones. The technology, called FarSight, would improve upon drones’ surveilling capabilities, which are usually limited due to the distance at which they are typically taking images of a person.
