The European AI Office published details for participation in the recently finalized General-Purpose AI Code of Practice. The office said signatories will “enjoy streamlined compliance with the obligations for general-purpose AI models in the AI Act,” which take effect 2 Aug. Additionally, the European Commission’s enforcement of participants’ GPAI practices will focus on “monitoring their adherence to the code, which offers greater predictability and reduced administrative burden.” Editor’s note: IAPP Staff Writer Caitlin Andrews reported on the finalization of the code.
