European Commission Executive Vice President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy Henna Virkkunen delivered remarks regarding digital policy developments to members of European Parliament’s Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection. Virkkunen outlined the Commission’s AI Continent Action Plan, which aims to simplify AI rules and remove business barriers around development and use. She also discussed improved consumer choice under the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act and said additional enforcement actions may be forthcoming.
