France’s data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, issued guidelines on data controllers’ obligations to complete compliance checks on databases. The CNIL noted data controllers must ensure databases provide the source of its legally collected information and does not contain the sensitive personal data of consumers.
