The U.K. Parliament’s Science, Innovation and Technology Committee opened an inquiry to explore how misinformation and harmful content is spread by social media’s algorithms and generative AI. “As part of this, we’ll examine how these companies use algorithms to rank content, and whether their business models encourage the spread of content that can mislead and harm us,” committee chair MP Chi Onwurah said.
