Stanford Cyber Policy Center’s Program on Platform Regulation Director Daphne Keller wrote for Lawfare regarding efforts to regulate online speech and the subsequent compliance implications. While creating rules around users’ content is the responsibility of social platforms, Keller said efforts have “shifted priorities, resources, and (organizational) charts to focus on the process for making decisions about users’ speech rather than the underlying speech rules or individual decisions affecting users.”
