Guernsey Data Protection Commissioner Brent Homan detailed efforts by the DPA and Health Improvement Commission to protect children’s health information during the use of health care technology. Homan said the offices worked together during the HIC’s initiative to promote healthy lifestyles to children by implementing “greater transparency in messaging, ensured anonymization leading to enhanced security, and importantly, encouraged participating schools to commit to ‘opt-in’ parental consent.” Editor’s note: Homan will be a speaker at the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress in Brussels.
