The passage of the European Health Data Space “raises unique challenges” for the use of health data for research and innovation, Covington & Burling Of Counsel Kristof Van Quathem writes. Van Quathem said one major challenge for the EHDS as constituted is users obtaining anonymized aggregated personal health data for research, but there is currently a lack of a commonly accepted data anonymization standard across the EU.
