Euractiv reports the European Commission will roll out its proposal to address Web 4.0, which includes plans for addressing the metaverse and other augmented or virtual realities. The commission wrote in its strategy that digital realities are “persistent, immersive environments” which require an approach to “enable interoperability between platforms and networks and freedom of choice for users, and where sustainability is at the core of technological developments.”
